Woodbridge, VA – Sev1Tech announced today that it has been awarded a prime contract with the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide enterprise-wide information technology solutions, engineering, and environmentally focused project management services in support of the agency’s Storage Tank Management Program (STMP).

FEMA leads America to build and improve capabilities to prepare for, prevent, respond to and recover from disasters. In order to accomplish its mission, FEMA maintains underground storage tanks (UST), aboveground storage tanks (AST), and Rolling Stock tanks containing petroleum. These storage tanks are used to power emergency generators, response coordination centers, and for disaster support across the United States. FEMA’s storage tank portfolio data serve as the primary resource for FEMA to control and monitor logistics for all fuel tanks, disaster prevention and control countermeasures, and mobilization strategies.

“We understand the critical role that information systems play in FEMA’s strategic planning and decision-making. Our engineers will support the agency’s mission to design and implement secure, enterprise-wide IT solutions,” said Sev1Tech Chief Executive Officer Bob Lohfeld. “By enhancing the accessibility and reliability of key information systems across the United States, our work will help make cities safer and better equipped to adapt to and recover from disasters.”

The Storage Tank Management Program (STMP) enables FEMA mission success through storage tank management and reporting. Sev1Tech will evaluate, upgrade, and maintain FEMA’s IT assets to improve usability and operational readiness, while simultaneously reducing costs.

In addition to integrating new technologies and solutions into FEMA’s STMP, Sev1Tech will also provide project management services to ensure environmental, safety, and structural compliance and minimize environmental impacts and the liabilities associated with the use of fuel storage tanks. Backed by highly qualified people and continually improving certified processes, FEMA has confidence in Sev1Tech’s ability to deliver a sustainable, fully compliant, and national STMP.
