The association serves as a bridge for the ethical exchange of ideas and information between government, military, and industry.

Founded in 1946, AFCEA is a member-based nonprofit organization that helps its members advance information technology, communications, and electronic capabilities. The association provides a forum for government, military, and industry professionals in the defense, homeland security, intelligence, and information technology communities to collaborate and ensure that technology and strategy align with the needs of those who serve.
